Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician in Austin, TX to perform general maintenance and repairs across the facility. The role focuses on plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting tasks, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of maintenance experience, can work independently, and will handle multiple tasks while delivering reliable results. Regular hours are days, with weekends and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 years of maintenance technician experience
• Experience in general building maintenance or handyman services
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, drywall repair, and painting
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair work throughout the facility.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing-related issues.
• Repair, patch, texture, and finish drywall as needed.
• Prepare surfaces and perform interior and exterior painting projects.
• Assist with electrical repairs and maintenance following safety standards.
• Assemble, install, and repair fixtures, furniture, doors, locks, and hardware.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete work orders efficiently.
