Job summary

ABM Industries in the United States seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance across office and commercial facilities, including carpentry, painting, and cosmetic repairs.

You will assist electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks, support moves and event setups, and help keep tools and work areas clean, safe, and organized.

Strong troubleshooting, reliability, and safety awareness are essential, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience in general building maintenance or handyman services preferred.
Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and repair practices.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repair work throughout office and commercial facilities.
Complete minor carpentry projects, including furniture assembly, cabinet repairs, and fixture installation.
Perform painting, patching, and cosmetic repairs to walls, ceilings, sidewalks, and other facility surfaces.
Conduct basic repairs and troubleshooting of building equipment and appliances.
Assist with furniture moves, office reconfigurations, and event setups.
Support electrical, plumbing, and HVAC technicians with maintenance projects and repairs.
Perform routine grounds maintenance and landscaping activities as needed.
Identify maintenance concerns and report major repair needs to management.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
Respond to urgent maintenance requests and facility emergencies.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
