Job summary

McKinley County is seeking a Facilities and Grounds Maintenance position to perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, roof and building repairs, and custodial duties across county facilities.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with at least one year of general maintenance experience or equivalent training. Knowledge of computer programs and typing skills are desirable; local government experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required (minimum).
• One year general maintenance experience preferred, or base on school/training.
• Certificate or degree in Construction Technology, HVAC, Electrical or related field is a plus.
• Computer skills: typing skills and knowledge of various computer programs.
• Experience in a local government environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform facilities and grounds maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, roof and building repairs.
• View, track and complete work orders; monitor automation system controls.
• Maintain grounds with lawn tools, paint curbs, repair fencing and gates, and clear snow or debris as needed.
• Carry out custodial duties daily across county facilities; sweep, mop, dust, clean restrooms, dispose of trash.
• Manage cleaning supplies and custodial equipment; submit purchase orders and invoices; distribute supplies.
