Job summary

Mueller Water Products in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a General Utility Maintenance team member to support daily manufacturing operations and keep equipment and workspaces clean and organized. You will perform routine maintenance tasks, assist maintenance craftsmen, operate tools, and follow safety procedures, with overtime possible on weekends.

Candidates must pass a basic aptitude test, drug/alcohol screening, and background check, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a basic aptitude test, physical, with drug/alcohol test and background screen.

Responsibilities

• Empty metal hoppers/containers as needed, within Maintenance Department.
• Perform general cleanup in Maintenance areas.
• Transport MRO parts/materials from Receiving to Stockroom as needed.
• Assist maintenance craftsmen in retrieving parts/materials from storage and deliver to jobsites as needed.
• Keep maintenance storage areas organized.
• Act as Fire Watch for hot work jobs as needed (must be trained).
• Act as Attendant for Confined Space jobs as needed, (must be trained).
• Work safely in the manufacturing production environment.
• Follow detailed verbal/written assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
• Properly fill out basic forms, reports, and label products correctly.
• Communicate and work effectively with others.
• Provide hands-on and verbal job function training to coworkers as needed.
• Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Supervisor(s).
• Record daily all work performed and correct distribution of work time.
• Keep the department/work area clean of trash and debris.
• Use software systems as needed to complete job duties.
• Contribute to culture of high-quality products.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
