Mueller Water Products in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to install, repair, and maintain a range of mechanical equipment, including drives, bearings, hydraulics, and welding operations. The role requires reading blueprints, performing machine tool work, and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure safe, efficient plant operation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least four years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; four years of verifiable trade experience in industrial maintenance preferred.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams; able to sketch layouts as needed.
• Experience with machine tools, welding, and fabrication.
• Knowledge of safety practices and PPE requirements in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and rebuild plant machinery and material-handling equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams; create sketches as needed.
• Set up and operate machine tools; repair parts as required.
• Perform acetylene or electric welding and cutting operations.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems; conduct predictive and preventative maintenance.
• Use precision measuring tools; sharpen tools as needed.
• Fabricate and modify machines or equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures.
• Assist other skilled classifications and participate in training as directed.
