Job summary

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) seeks a skilled Maintenance Specialist to perform a broad range of trades-based repairs and preventive maintenance across campus facilities. You’ll diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and related systems, coordinate with supervisors and other trades, and ensure safe, functional spaces for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a job related area within a skilled trade or maintenance field is required.
• Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade with two years of verifiable paid experience in skilled trades or maintenance; or in leading other maintenance workers.
• License: Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability.
• Required certifications in specific trades as applicable by local/state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test malfunctioning equipment per manufacturer specs using testing instruments.
• Keep records of all maintenance and repairs performed on equipment.
• Maintain building functionality and safety in accordance with OSHA and institutional standards.
• Coordinate with supervisor and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
• Respond to emergencies to resolve safety concerns and protect the educational environment.
• Perform various facility and equipment repairs across trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
