Job summary

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking an entry-level Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the skilled maintenance team on campus. You will learn and apply knowledge across trades such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and more, while supporting the Director of Facilities in keeping the institution safe and operational for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

The role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and hands-on learning as you assist with preventive maintenance

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Recent graduate of a relevant program is desired.
Interest in learning skilled trades and construction, electronics, or HVAC.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with site personnel, other trades, and subcontractors to schedule work orders and coordinate work activities.
Inspects facilities and equipment for safety (OSHA) and identifies repairs.
Installs and maintains various system components (cabinetry, doors, hardware, windows, audiovisual equipment) to keep facilities safe and functional.
Prepares and maintains work orders, repair records, and requisitions for documentation.
Responds to emergencies to resolve safety concerns and protect the educational environment.
