Job summary

John Boner Neighborhood Centers (JBNC) in Indianapolis, IN, seeks skilled Maintenance Technicians (Levels I-III) to support upkeep of residential and commercial properties. This on-site, full-time role involves basic to advanced repairs, on-call rotations, and travel between JBNC properties to complete maintenance tasks.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience in maintenance, facilities, or a related trade.
• Ability to perform maintenance tasks appropriate to technician level (I, II, or III).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs across residential units and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general construction.
• Complete work orders efficiently and maintain high-quality standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce future issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair appliances and building systems based on experience level.
• Support unit turns and ensure apartments are ready for new residents.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests, including participation in an on-call rotation.
• Travel between JBNC properties to complete maintenance work.
• Collaborate with team members and vendors to resolve complex issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work completed.
• Contribute to a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents and staff.
