Job summary

The Tucson Medical Center Cancer Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clerical support and basic patient care under supervision. The role includes taking vital signs, preparing rooms, collecting specimens, assisting with procedures, and covering up to three clinic locations as needed.

You will document encounters in the EMR, schedule appointments, and help with education and discharge instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of medical assistance experience.
• Written proof of completion of recognized Medical Assistant course.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, weighs patients, and collects routine specimens.
• Assists with dressing changes, IVs, and procedures.
• Charts observations and vital signs in the EMR.
• Schedules patient visits and assists with medical needs.
• Obtains authorizations and assists with referrals.
