Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clerical support and basic patient care under RN/MD guidance. The role includes recording vital signs, collecting specimens, preparing rooms, and assisting with testing and procedures within the clinic and hospital settings.

Under supervision, you will transcribe orders, schedule appointments, update records, and communicate with patients about test results and follow-up needs, ensuring a safe and efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.
• EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months of medical assistance experience.
• LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical assistance and basic patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse, Program Director, or Medical Director.
• Performs vital signs, collects specimens, discharges patients, and assists with procedures and medications as directed.
• Documents clinical interactions, schedules appointments, and maintains records and data in the EMR system.
