Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Medical Assistant Floater to support physicians and hospitalists across outpatient and hospital settings in the Tampa region.

The role requires EHR experience (Epic/Athena/Cerner), at least 1 year in a medical office, and completion of an accredited MA program. BLS certification and MA registration are required, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of experience in a physician's office, clinic, or hospital setting.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems (Epic, Athena, Cerner, or equivalent).
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Certification or registration (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or equivalent) is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• Certified in EKG or phlebotomy procedures through an approved program is preferred.
• Prior exposure to multi-specialty or hospital-based environments preferred.
• Skilled in obtaining and documenting vital signs and performing routine diagnostic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient intakes with vital signs and histories.
• Assist providers during examinations, minor procedures, wound care, and testing.
• Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection.
• Prepare, label, and process laboratory samples and point-of-care tests.
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols across clinical areas.
• Support care coordination and patient triage.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Document clinical data and instructions in the EHR.
• Schedule and track appointments, referrals, and test results.
• Assist with insurance verifications, prior authorizations, and billing processes.
