Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Medical Assistant Floater for the Tampa region to provide clinical and administrative support in outpatient and hospital-based settings. You will help with patient flow, documentation, and education while adhering to guidelines and supervisor standards.

The role requires MA training, BLS certification, and EHR experience (Epic/Athena/Cerner). A bilingual (English/Spanish) candidate is preferred and prior multi-specialty exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience in a physician's office, clinic, or hospital setting.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems (Epic, Athena, Cerner, or equivalent).
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• BLS certification required.
• Certification or registration (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or equivalent) required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Certified in EKG or phlebotomy procedures through an approved program preferred.
• Prior exposure to multi-specialty or hospital-based environments preferred.
• Proficient in documenting vital signs and basic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive patient intakes, including vitals and med histories.
• Assists providers during exams, minor procedures, wound care, and testing.
• Performs EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection.
• Prepares and processes lab samples and point-of-care tests.
• Maintains infection control and safety protocols across areas.
• Supports care coordination and patient transitions between settings.
• Educates patients on medications, plans, and preventive care.
• Documents clinical data in the EHR accurately.
• Schedules and tracks appointments, referrals, and tests.
• Assists with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
