Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Vassar Plastics practice at Vassar Hospital in Hopewell Junction, NY. This full-time position runs Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with hours possibly varying by practice needs.

The MA will provide clinical and clerical support, prepare exam rooms, perform intake, document in the EMR, and assist with in-office testing. A BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire, and reliable transportation is needed.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to the clinical area and confirms patient identity.
• Transcribes demographic and medical history into the EMR.
• Provides clerical support and prepares patient charts for providers.
• Performs EMR orders reconciliation and maintains room cleanliness.
• Coordinates tests and outside services; ensures timely patient flow.
• Communicates effectively with patients and documents interactions.
