Job summary

Nuvance Health Med Practice PC in Poughkeepsie seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support in a busy practice. The role includes greeting patients, preparing exam rooms, handling vitals, and coordinating specimens and records.

Requirements include a High School diploma/GED with MA experience or healthcare training; bilingual Spanish preferred. May travel between locations. Salary ranges hourly with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for external hires.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required, plus 1 year MA experience or related healthcare training.
• Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
• Data entry and patient vitals competency.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patient from waiting room to the clinical area and ensures proper patient identification.
• Transcribes and updates demographic, medication history, social and medical history in the chart.
• Provides clerical support and prepares patient charts for assigned providers; assists with paperwork as needed.
• Performs EMR Orders Reconciliation as assigned.
• Maintains cleanliness and stocking of the examination area; performs rounds as required.
• Prepares patients for visits, ensures gowns, supplies and educational materials are ready for the provider.
• Collects, prepares, and processes specimens as directed; logs results in patient records.
• Communicates and documents electronic messages effectively.
• Assists in training of new staff and maintains compliance responsibilities.
• Travels between practices as needed and demonstrates dependable attendance.
