Job summary

YWCA of Binghamton is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and custodial tasks across multiple program facilities, including housing sites and a licensed childcare center. You will ensure safety, functionality, and regulatory readiness.

Under supervision of the Facilities Manager, you’ll execute work orders, inspect systems, assist with inspections, and support life-safety and site upkeep with reliability and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on maintenance or facilities experience.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
• Ability to work in multi-site nonprofit settings.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prioritize, and complete work orders promptly.
• Perform routine inspections and servicing of building systems.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing leaks, electrical issues, and minor structural repairs.
• Assist with monthly testing of life-safety systems (smoke detectors, alarms, exit signs).
• Prepare facilities for HUD, fire marshal, health department, and childcare inspections.
