Job summary

The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform advanced maintenance tasks, support multiple locations, and mentor junior staff. You will handle preventative maintenance, renovations, and ensure facilities remain safe and member-ready.

You will work under the District Property Director and Center Executive Director, with responsibilities spanning carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and light construction, ensuring regulatory compliance and budget

Qualifications

• High School/ GED required.
• 3 to 5 years of demonstrated maintenance/property management experience in busy facilities.
• Basic working knowledge of standard mechanical systems (plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, painting, custodial).
• Reliable transportation; maintenance technicians work across multiple locations.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and ongoing maintenance across assigned centers and keeps records per regulations and Tampa Y policies.
• Coordinates with vendors and contractors as assigned.
• Repairs on pool heaters and pumps; determines if heavier repairs require a contractor.
• Oversees maintenance operations across centers for consistency and quality.
• Assesses assets and plans for repairs, long-term upkeep, and replacement.
