Job summary

SHELTER, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Permanent Supportive Housing Program, managing upkeep across up to four Sacramento-area sites.

A pickup truck and construction background are required to perform repairs, schedule vendors, and support safety standards for residents at 1-bedroom units up to 100 participants. Responsibilities include maintaining REAC/HUD standards, addressing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry tasks, and coordinating turnover and safety procedures while

Qualifications

• 2+ years in building maintenance including carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC, and related tasks.
• Ability to operate and maintain building systems and respond to safety concerns.
• Knowledge of Landlord/Tenant Laws, Fair Housing Laws, ADA helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property to meet REAC, HUD and organizational standards.
• Perform repairs and maintenance across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other tasks.
• Inspect for safety hazards and coordinate with vendors/contractors as needed.
• Ensure vacant unit turnovers meet standards and budget goals.
• Maintain curb appeal and grounds, and perform routine property inspections.
