Job summary

The Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a Maintenance Associate for Mother of the Americas Parish in Chicago's Little Village area. You will perform interior and exterior maintenance and daily cleaning across several church buildings to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

This role requires on-call availability, including evenings and weekends, and travel between sites. You will supervise contractors, handle emergencies, and coordinate with external vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED with 1-3 years relevant experience.
• Prior experience with electrical work, plumbing, and/or painting.
• Associate's degree (AA) with 3-5 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain interior and exterior areas to ensure a safe, clean environment.
• Perform daily cleaning: sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, wipe walls/windows/restrooms, empty trash.
• Occasional on-call scheduling, evenings/weekends, travel to multiple sites within area.
• Strip/wax floors, carpet cleaning; seasonal maintenance, snow/ice removal, landscaping.
• Handle work orders promptly; arrange furniture for events; prepare rooms for occupancy.
• Coordinate services for maintenance emergencies; work with external vendors.
• Supervise contractors/vendors; ensure quality and provide guidance.
• Engage in ongoing learning and skill development; participate in training.
