Job summary

Community Health Programs (CHP) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians and care teams across Berkshire County. The role requires welcoming patients, recording vital signs, assisting with exams, and possibly performing EKGs and vaccine administration.

Flexibility to travel between CHP practices may be required, with some weekend work. The ideal candidate holds a MA Certified Medical Assistant certification, high school diploma, and prior medical office experience,

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent – completion of accredited Certified Medical Assistant program.
• Massachusetts Certified Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• Medical office experience is a plus as well as electronic medical records experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and escort patients to exam room; prepare patient for visit; record vital signs; assist provider per protocol.
• May perform EKGs on selected patients; prepare lab requests; label and record specimens; deliver specimens; retrieve lab results and x-ray reports.
• Vaccine administration (only if CMA) and Maintain Professional Certification/Registration.
• Change/update service profiles for scheduling needs; answer calls; provide information and messages; perform clerical duties; communicate with outside agencies.
• Answer patient calls/messages; pre-register patient at appointment; triage per protocol; ensure follow-up booking; cross-train for site coverage.
• Maintain clinical protocols annually; keep CPR certification.
