Job summary

The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company is seeking a Plant Supervisor to oversee a multi‑shift operation with 20–30 hourly associates and up to 30 seasonal staff. You will assign work, orient and train, and monitor performance to meet production goals.

This role enforces safety programs, maintains logs and records, and collaborates with the Plant Manager on budgets and daily operations. The starting pay range is $82,500 to $97,100 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising hourly and seasonal workers.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
• Ability to assign work and schedule shifts.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a workforce of 20-30 hourly full‑time and up to 30 seasonal/temporary associates across one or more areas (production, maintenance, grounds, warehouse, distribution, field operations).
• Assign work and monitor progress, orient/train, interview/hire applicants, evaluate performance, counsel or discipline, and establish schedules.
• Execute and enforce government, company and plant policies and procedures.
• Ensure quality and quantity standards are achieved cost‑effectively while maintaining material availability; troubleshoot as needed.
• Communicate and monitor safety programs and procedures.
• Foster a team environment to maintain a union‑free workplace.
• Prepare and maintain logs/records (production, maintenance, inventory) and assist in budget development/monitoring.
• Operate equipment alongside the workforce when needed.
• Support the Plant Manager and other supervisors in directing overall plant operations.
