Job summary

Amentum Advanced Solutions is seeking an entry-level or early career Mechanical Engineer to join a multi-discipline team working on complex research and development facilities, including wind tunnels, rocket test stands, and climatic chambers. You will contribute under supervision, perform analyses, prepare reports, and help develop complete design packages with 3D CAD in Inventor or SolidWorks.

A BS in Mechanical Engineering and at least three years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills including kinematics, dynamics, and stress/strain.
• Experience with FEA and pressure vessel design considerations.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as Inventor or SolidWorks; familiarity with Ansys is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform assignments under guidance from a senior engineer.
• Analyze results and evaluate analyses following established codes and precedents.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and presentations; coordinate with designers/drafters.
