Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. is offering a 2027 Transportation Planning summer internship across Minneapolis, Eden Prairie, or Plymouth. You will support transportation planning, bicycle/pedestrian planning, and funding efforts, contributing to environmental documents and land use analyses.

You will gain experience in multimodal planning methods, effective report writing, and public engagement, with relocation not included and travel reimbursed as needed.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in urban planning, public policy, geography, public administration or related field.
Minimum GPA 2.8; desired GPA 3.2 or above.
Must have a valid driver's license and own transportation; travel reimbursements available.

Responsibilities

Support project teams in transportation planning, bicycle/pedestrian planning, funding acquisition, land use analysis, research and environmental documents.
Gain experience in multimodal planning methods and design standards for urban and rural areas.
Assist with technical report preparation and presentations; develop policy research and persuasive writing skills.
Engage agencies and stakeholders; facilitate project communications and public engagement.
