Job summary

The City of Lake Stevens is seeking a Traffic Engineer to plan, design, analyze, and implement multimodal traffic projects and policies that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the transportation network. This mid-level professional also leads the traffic safety camera program.

Responsibilities include managing capital projects from planning through construction, reviewing development proposals, collaborating with Police and other departments, and maintaining the Local Road Safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Three years of experience in traffic engineering or civil engineering with focus on public transportation infrastructure.
• PE license desirable and/or Project Management Professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee traffic safety camera program operations and policy development.
• Develop and manage the Local Road Safety Plan and Traffic Calming Program.
• Conduct traffic studies; review accident reports and propose safety improvements.
• Lead design and construction management of transportation projects with multimodal emphasis.
• Collaborate with Police and other departments to address traffic engineering issues.
