Job summary

HDR is seeking a Traffic Designer/EIT to support our expanding transportation practice in the Midwest, focusing on Missouri and Kansas City. You will perform multimodal transportation analyses and support design efforts on a range of projects.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree with 0–2 years of experience, is EIT-registered or pursuing it, and is proficient with Synchro, VISSIM, MicroStation, GIS, and data tools. HDR values collaborative, inclusive teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 0–2 years of relevant traffic engineering experience preferred.
  • EIT registration or active pursuit of EIT registration required.
  • Experience with traffic operational software and CAD for roadway/traffic design.
  • Familiarity with GIS and travel-demand forecasting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform multimodal transportation analyses for municipal and larger projects.
  • Support traffic design elements including signals, signing, lighting, and ITS.
  • Maintain Traffic (MOT) planning and analyses for projects.
  • Assist in corridor studies and travel-time/impact analyses.
  • Use large datasets (HERE, INRIX) to support model-building and analyses.
  • Contribute to proposal development for traffic-engineering pursuits.
