Job summary

HDR is seeking a Traffic Designer/EIT to join our Midwest transportation team, focusing on Missouri and Kansas projects. You will perform multimodal transportation analyses, support design efforts, and help manage large data sets for municipal and larger system interchanges.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to transportation or civil engineering.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in traffic engineering and multimodal analysis.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, especially MicroStation.
  • Experience with traffic operational software such as Synchro and VISSIM.
  • Familiarity with GIS and travel-demand forecasting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operational analysis using both microsimulation and deterministic models.
  • Traffic design including signals, signing/marking, and ITS.
  • MOT planning and analysis for maintenance of traffic.
  • Multimodal safety analyses including bicycle, pedestrian, and transit studies.
  • Support for transportation planning efforts and corridor studies.
  • Use of large datasets to support model-building and multimodal analysis.
