Job Title: Multilingual Instructional Aide
Calendar Work Days: 10 Months
Supervisor: Multilingual Department Chair
Status: Non Exempt - HTHSSSA
The Multilingual paraprofessional's primary responsibility is to provide assistance for identified ML students in areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in ML and general education classes. This assistance is focused on helping multilingual students access the general education curriculum and improving the English language acquisition of students whose first language is not English.
ELS (PARA) license
Ability to communicate in Spanish, Arabic, or Ukrainian preferred
Basic technology skills to assist students required
Ability to organize information and problem solve complex situations
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience with high school students preferred
Presents a professional image and interacts professionally with faculty, staff, students, and community
Starting Salary $19.50/HR, we offer comprehensive benefit package, with possible no-cost health insurance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee must reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to push and pull a student in a wheelchair and assist students with daily living activities. The employee must be able to climb stairs to enter a bus or attend off-site field trips. The employee must handle medical and PPE supplies, including latex. Specific vision abilities include close vision, such as reading type or handwritten material. The noise level is usually quiet indoors but can be loud during certain activities. The employee interacts continuously with students and staff.
