Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and highly motivated Infant Teacher to join our team. The Infant Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for infants ages 6 weeks to 15 months. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that each child receives individualized attention and care, supporting early development milestones in alignment with DCFS and Children’s Land standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide responsive and attentive care to infants, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and engaging in developmentally appropriate play.
- Create and implement a safe, loving, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that encourages sensory exploration, gross motor development, and early language acquisition.
- Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with infants and their families through daily communication and regular progress updates.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including feeding logs, diaper changes, nap schedules, and developmental observations.
- Collaborate with team members and directors to plan activities aligned with Children’s Land curriculum and early learning guidelines.
- Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and well-organized at all times.
- Follow and enforce all DCFS, health department, and Children’s Land safety and operational protocols.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development trainings, and participate in center events and parent conferences.
Qualifications
- Must meet DCFS Infant Teacher qualifications, including:
- Minimum of 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of college credit with 6 semester hours in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (CD).
- OR hold a CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) focused on infants and toddlers.
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- 2 Years of experience working in an infant or toddler classrooms.
- Strong understanding of child development principles, especially related to infants.
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Work Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday.
