Job summary

Bridgewater State University is seeking a TMS tutor to provide peer mentorship and language support for multilingual students. You will be paired with a student at the start of the semester and meet weekly for one hour to support conversation, listening, writing, and reading in English.

The ideal candidate is an undergraduate BSU student registered for at least six credits, will complete ENGL 205 for two semesters to receive ongoing feedback, and is committed to equity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• BSU undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits
• Grade of B or higher in ENGL 101 and ENGL 102
• Submit a sample of formal writing (essay or research paper)
• Attend required pre-service tutor training
• Take ENGL 205, a one-credit class, for two semesters to receive feedback on tutoring strategies
