Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for our Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA. The role supervises hourly staff, directs daily operations, and drives process improvements in a multi-area manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include coordinating recruitment and training, ensuring quality hardware, and applying policies. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience combined with education.
• Proven ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Proven ability to read manufacturing work instructions to perform manufacturing tasks in the fabrication of spaceflight hardware.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior formal or informal leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive assignments in task-oriented terms.
• Provide direction to hourly subordinates using established policies and precedents.
• Coordinate subordinate recruitment, selection and training, performance, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Demonstrate soundness of judgment and produce quality hardware in a manufacturing environment.
• Administer and execute policies and procedures that affect subordinate employees.
• Provide direction of daily operations to a manufacturing team and assist subordinates as required.
• Develop work assignments and assess performance.
• Assist with performing direct tasks as workload requires.
• Support corrective action investigations, root cause analysis, and process improvements; maintain 6S/lean processes.
