Job summary

Harbor Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold the property’s integrity and appearance. You will perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs, respond to resident requests, and coordinate preventative maintenance across multifamily grounds and common areas.

You will prepare units for new residents, manage tools/inventory, and ensure safety compliance. On-call availability and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• One-year prior experience in general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, or appliance repair.
• HVAC certification preferred; EPA Type I & II or Universal certification required for refrigerant handling.
• Multifamily (apartment) maintenance experience highly desired.
• Must be available for emergency on-call, including evenings and weekends upon the needs of the property.
• Valid driver’s license required (for golf cart operation if applicable).
• Must be customer-service oriented with the ability to interact professionally with residents.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Any other certifications as required by local and state laws.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and glass replacement.
• Respond to resident service requests promptly and track repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs for safe, efficient operation.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents with inspections and punch lists.
• Maintain amenity areas through cleaning, trash removal, pressure washing, and painting.
• Manage maintenance tools and inventory; notify for reorder as needed.
• Repair rather than replace parts when possible to save costs.
• Attend safety meetings and OSHA training; report incidents.
• Inspect vendor work to ensure quality and scope compliance.
• Assist in property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
