Job summary

Optima, Inc. in Illinois seeks a Property Accounting Specialist who ensures accuracy and timeliness of resident ledgers, receivables, payables, and month-end close.

This role works from a designated workspace apart from the office team to focus on financial controls and deadlines, reporting to the Property Manager with no direct reports. You will process leases, post payments in Yardi Voyager, review ledgers, and assist with audits, reconciliations, and collections to maximize revenue.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of multifamily property accounting experience.
• Hands-on proficiency with Yardi Voyager and Excel; RentCafe Site Manager preferred.
• Ability to reconcile accounts, audit transactions, and meet month-end deadlines.
• Strong discretion with confidential financial information and clear written communication.

Responsibilities

• Process leases and move-ins/move-outs with complete, accurate records.
• Post payments in Yardi Voyager to maintain current financial records.
• Review and maintain resident ledgers including charges and credits.
• Post and reconcile payments, research discrepancies, and obtain approvals.
• Prepare month-end worksheets and supporting schedules by deadlines.
• Run Yardi reports, identify variances, and document findings for management.
