Job summary

B.HOM Student Living is seeking a Maintenance Technician to respond to requests, perform preventative maintenance, and service a multifamily community in Honolulu. You will handle turns, repairs, safety, and vendor coordination to keep residents comfortable and safe.

Ideal candidates have basic maintenance knowledge, strong problem-solving, and excellent communication. The role requires day shifts with on-call and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance, and general maintenance systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.
• Availability for night, weekend, and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance.
• Schedule, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance activities.
• Complete apartment turns and prepare units for new residents.
• Ensure all work orders are completed promptly, professionally, and accurately.
• Perform emergency maintenance as required.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and common areas to identify maintenance needs.
• Maintain the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of the property.
• Verify that completed work meets company standards and quality expectations.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating vendors and contractors.
• Support bid collection and vendor oversight for maintenance projects.
• Accurately prepare and submit invoices and maintenance documentation.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to current and prospective residents.
• Communicate effectively regarding maintenance requests and repair timelines.
• Promote a positive living experience through responsive and professional service.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Participate in required training, including safety, fair housing, anti-harassment, and compliance programs.
• Maintain a safe working environment and proper use of equipment and tools.
• Support on-call and after-hours maintenance needs as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support property operations.
