Job summary

Harbor Group Management in Alabama is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain the property’s buildings, amenities, and grounds, handle resident service requests, and support safe, efficient operation.

The role covers hands-on maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting, with on-call availability evenings and weekends. Benefits accompany a non-exempt, on-site schedule at the community.

Qualifications

• 1 year of general maintenance experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, or appliance repair)
• HVAC certification preferred; EPA Type I & II or Universal certification required for refrigerant handling
• Multifamily maintenance experience highly desired
• Available for emergency on-call, including evenings and weekends
• Valid driver’s license for golf cart operation if applicable
• Customer-service oriented with residents
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety guidelines
• Any other certifications as required by local and state laws

Responsibilities

• Perform technical and mechanical maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repair, and glass work
• Respond to resident service requests promptly using a work order system
• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections for safe operation
• Prepare vacant units with inspections, punch lists, and scheduling of contractors
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of amenity areas and common spaces
• Manage maintenance tools, track inventory, and notify on reorder needs
• Repair rather than replace parts to control costs
• Attend safety meetings and OSHA training; report incidents
• Inspect vendor work for quality and scope compliance
• Assist in property inspections and upkeep planning
