Job summary

Fernwood Communities at Lake Meadows Apartments in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the property’s maintenance operations and on-site team. You will manage preventive/corrective maintenance, apartment turns, and vendor services to deliver safe, well-maintained living spaces for residents.

The ideal candidate has extensive multifamily maintenance leadership experience, strong technical skills across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry, and a proven ability

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years in maintenance management.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry.
• Experience coordinating apartment turns and vendors.
• Strong leadership and customer-service skills.
• Basic computer skills and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance operations for the Lake Meadows community.
• Prioritize service requests and preventive maintenance.
• Supervise maintenance technicians and grounds staff.
• Coordinate apartment turns and vendor services.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with standards.
• Maintain records, inspections, and equipment logs.
• Respond to emergencies and on-call rotations.
