Job summary

Emmerson Construction, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for the Sacramento Rivercity project.

The role focuses on scheduling and managing all onsite and offsite construction activities for multi-family developments, ensuring work adheres to code, standards, and Emmerson's quality expectations. The candidate will inspect work, coordinate trades, maintain safety programs, track progress with six‑week look aheads, and document daily reports.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
• Ability to read civil plans, soils reports, and utility plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with site supervision and direct trades as needed.
• Perform inspections prior to formal inspections and verify code compliance.
• Collect subcontractor safety paperwork and maintain OSHA inspection reports.
• Walk units to check quality, create punch lists, and correct items.
• Oversee safe site operations and document daily manpower counts.
• Coordinate six-week look-ahead schedules and trades.
• Attend meetings, take minutes, and share with trades.
• Draft RFIs and update red-line plans in real time.
• Maintain site PPE compliance and sign-in sheets.
