Job summary

Brown-Forman in Versailles, KY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide general and preventive maintenance and repair of production equipment, systems and facilities. You will support new equipment installations, upgrades, and input on facility projects to keep operations running smoothly.

You will work across shifts as needed, including weekends, and partner with the maintenance team to resolve issues, manage parts, and ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent vocational training or work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical systems (single- and three-phase).
• Fluency in basic mechanical and electrical terms, equipment characteristics, and facilities maintenance terms.
• Reading technical drawings and diagrams.
• Strong technical aptitude.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to manage issue resolution.
• Able to pass drug & alcohol screening and other required tests.
• Ability to anticipate roadblocks and issues that could derail a job.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Able to work on-call weekend shifts as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Leverage work order system to track maintenance and identify replacement timelines.
• Resolve equipment issues by identifying parts and coordinating procurement.
• Diagnose and repair electrical problems.
• Troubleshoot motor control systems.
• Repair packaging systems (conveyors, palletizers, de-palletizers, labeling).
• Maintain facilities systems (air, boiler, fire suppression).
• Address grain handling, mashing and distillation system issues.
• Provide preventive maintenance and repair for barrel handling equipment and air-handling units.
• Partner with maintenance team to complete repairs on time and budget.
• Maintain organized spare parts area.

Job description

Meaningful Work From Day One:

Provide general and preventive maintenance and repair of all production equipment, systems and facilities. Support new equipment and machinery installation, facilities upgrades / redesigns and give input on new equipment and facilities upgrades. Work ove time, including on-call weekend shifts, and across shifts as needed to support seamless operation.

What You Can Expect:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems and manufacturing equipment such as motors, pumps, conveying systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Leverage work order system to track maintenance of the operation in order to identify replacement timelines and manage workflow and productivity
• Resolve equipment issues by analyzing discrepancies, identifying repair parts and coordinating parts purchase(s) with the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Diagnose and repair electrical problems.
• Troubleshoot, identify and repair issues with electrical motor control systems.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automated packaging systems including conveyors, palletizers, de-palletizers, and labeling machines.
• Maintain and repair facilities systems, including compressed air, boiler and fire suppression
• Identify and repair issues within grain handling, mashing and distillation systems
• Provide preventive maintenance and problem resolution for barrel handling equipment as well as general maintenance for all air-handling units
• Partner with other members of the maintenance team to complete all repairs and project work on time and on budget
• Maintain a clean and organized spare parts supply area

What You Bring to the Table

• Associates Degree or equivalent vocational training or work experience
• Demonstrated experience in both single and three-phase electrical systems
• Fluency in basic mechanical and electrical terms, equipment characteristics, and facilities maintenance terms
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and diagrams
• Strong technical aptitude
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to manage through issue resolution.
• Able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, reach, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp and climb stairs/ladders. Able to push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and lift/carry up to 70 pounds occasionally.
• Able to pass drug & alcohol screening, physical abilities test, and other testing as required.
• Ability to anticipate roadblocks and issues that could derail a job
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work on-call weekend shifts as scheduled
