Job summary

Brown-Forman Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide general and preventive maintenance for all production equipment, systems, and facilities. You will support new equipment installations, facility upgrades, and participate in cross-shift coverage including weekends.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical skills, the ability to read technical drawings, and good communication with a collaborative maintenance team.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or equivalent vocational training or work experience.
  • Experience with single and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems and manufacturing equipment such as motors, pumps, conveying systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Leverage work order system to track maintenance and manage workflow and productivity.
  • Resolve equipment issues by analyzing discrepancies and coordinating parts purchases.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems and motor control systems.
  • Maintain and repair automated packaging systems including conveyors and labeling machines.
  • Provide preventive maintenance and general maintenance for facility systems.
  • Partner with maintenance team to complete repairs on time and on budget.

Job description

Meaningful Work From Day One: Provide general and preventive maintenance and repair of all production equipment, systems and facilities. Support new equipment and machinery installation, facilities upgrades / redesigns and give input on new equipment and facilities upgrades. Work overtime, including on-call weekend shifts, and across shifts as needed to support seamless operation.

What You Can Expect:
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems and manufacturing equipment such as motors, pumps, conveying systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Leverage work order system to track maintenance of the operation in order to identify replacement timelines and manage workflow and productivity
  • Resolve equipment issues by analyzing discrepancies, identifying repair parts and coordinating parts purchase(s) with the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems.
  • Troubleshoot, identify and repair issues with electrical motor control systems.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automated packaging systems including conveyors, palletizers, de-palletizers, and labeling machines.
  • Maintain and repair facilities systems, including compressed air, boiler and fire suppression
  • Identify and repair issues within grain handling, mashing and distillation systems
  • Provide preventive maintenance and problem resolution for barrel handling equipment as well as general maintenance for all air-handling units
  • Partner with other members of the maintenance team to complete all repairs and project work on time and on budget
  • Maintain a clean and organized spare parts supply area
What You Bring to the Table:
  • Associates Degree or equivalent vocational training or work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in both single and three-phase electrical systems
  • Fluency in basic mechanical and electrical terms, equipment characteristics, and facilities maintenance terms
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and diagrams
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to manage through issue resolution.
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, reach, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp and climb stairs/ladders. Able to push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and lift/carry up to 70 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to pass drug & alcohol screening, physical abilities test, and other testing as required.
  • Ability to anticipate roadblocks and issues that could derail a job
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work on-call weekend shifts as scheduled
