Job summary

Proper Food seeks an Area Director to lead all NY stores and drive expansion. You will blend hands-on operations with market-building strategy, initially managing hourly staff and later multi-unit managers to scale the business.

You will partner with the CEO and leadership team, ensure financial and qualitative goals are met, and help grow catering and wholesale programs as we scale across New York.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of multi-unit restaurant/retail management experience, leading 20+ staff.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• Valid Food Handlers Card prior to start date.
• BA/BS in Business or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop high‑performing NY store teams.
• Staffing, scheduling and payroll management.
• Maintain store operations with high standards and compliance.
• Collaborate with SF Area Director for national consistency.
• Drive revenue and manage labor and supply costs.
