Job summary

Riverside Commons in Dearborn, MI is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform interior and exterior maintenance, electrical and plumbing work, light construction, drywall patch/paint, and to coordinate service from outside vendors to keep the facility safe and functional.

You will maintain a clean, organized workspace, collaborate with other departments, and support residents with courteous service while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2 years of maintenance experience across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related trades.
• Experience working with seniors and state/local inspections is a plus.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate stairs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overall plant operations, including interior and exterior maintenance
• Perform electrical/plumbing work, light construction, drywall patch/paint, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed
• Coordinate scheduled service from outside vendors, including HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing services
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless facility operations
