Job summary

Allegria Village is seeking a dependable part-time Maintenance Technician to join our team in Dearborn, Michigan. This role maintains the physical environment of our Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing facilities, performing routine repairs, inspections, and general upkeep to ensure safety, cleanliness, and comfort for residents and staff.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently while contributing as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, facilities, building services, or related experience preferred.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic maintenance issues and determine when additional assistance is needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with older adults.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing areas.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs.
• Inspect equipment, fixtures, doors, windows, lighting, and other building components.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and routine safety inspections.
• Help maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other facility spaces.
• Identify maintenance or safety concerns and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with emergency maintenance situations as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in an organized and safe manner.
• Assist with seasonal maintenance and other facility projects as assigned.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Work respectfully and professionally around residents, families, visitors, and staff.
