Yellow Jacket Maintenance Services (YJM) is a trusted maintenance partner serving community associations across the Chicagoland area, specializing in preventative maintenance, multi-trade repairs, and property upkeep.

We are hiring a Maintenance Technician / Handyman with strong multi-trade experience to support residential and HOA properties. Ideal candidates excel in electrical, drywall, painting, and exterior repairs, and take pride in high-quality work, reliability, and professionalism.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of maintenance technician, handyman, or multi-trade experience
• Experience working in residential, HOA, or property management environments
• Strong knowledge of electrical, drywall, and general repairs
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Own basic hand tools
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance, repair, and installation work orders across multiple properties
• Perform electrical repairs (outlets, switches, lighting, GFCIs, ceiling fans, breaker panels)
• Handle drywall repair, patching, and installation
• Execute interior and exterior painting and staining
• Perform exterior maintenance (siding, fascia, gutters, seal coating)
• Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems and fixtures
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site
• Communicate effectively with property managers and HOA clients
• Manage time efficiently and complete jobs right the first time
