Job summary

Yellow Jacket Maintenance Services (YJM) is hiring a Maintenance Technician / Handyman with strong multi-trade experience to support residential and HOA properties in the Chicagoland area. You’ll perform electrical, drywall, painting, and exterior repairs, maintain high-quality workmanship, and collaborate with property managers to complete work right the first time.

Requires 3–5+ years in maintenance, ability to lift 50 lbs, valid driver’s license, own tools, and willingness to be on-call.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of maintenance technician, handyman, or multi-trade experience.
• Experience working in residential, HOA, or property management environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, drywall, and general repairs.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Own basic hand tools.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance, repair, and installation work orders across multiple properties.
• Perform electrical repairs (outlets, switches, lighting, GFCIs, ceiling fans, breaker panels).
• Handle drywall repair, patching, and installation.
• Execute interior and exterior painting and staining.
• Perform exterior maintenance (siding, fascia, gutters, seal coating).
• Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems and fixtures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site.
• Communicate effectively with property managers and HOA clients.
• Manage time efficiently and complete jobs right the first time.

Position Overview

We are hiring a Maintenance Technician / Handyman with strong multi-trade experience to support residential and HOA properties.

This role is ideal for someone skilled in electrical, drywall, painting, and exterior repairs who takes pride in high-quality work, reliability, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance, repair, and installation work orders across multiple properties
• Perform electrical repairs (outlets, switches, lighting, GFCIs, ceiling fans, breaker panels)
