Job summary

Williamsburg Landing is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to support basic facility upkeep and serve as the technical backup for electricians on high-voltage and complex electrical jobs. The role emphasizes safe work practices and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.

The GMT will assist with repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general facilities, manage work orders, and participate in emergency response and on-call rotations while maintaining positive interactions with

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; graduation from a trade/vocational school preferred.
3–5 years of progressive general maintenance experience with residential/commercial property maintenance.
Demonstrated working experience with basic electrical concepts including voltage, current, resistance, single-phase power systems.
A valid, unrestricted Commonwealth of Virginia driver’s license with an acceptable, insurable driving record.
Demonstrated proficiency in reading blueprints, building layouts.

Responsibilities

Assists in repairs and troubleshooting of electrical distribution systems and HVAC.
Assists in repairs and troubleshooting of plumbing systems, boilers, and heating systems.
Completes daily work orders for facility upkeep in resident living areas and common spaces.
Assist with the fire suppression system maintenance and repairs with contractors.
