Job summary

Williamsburg Landing is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to handle installation, preventive and routine maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems, focusing on household appliances. The GMT promotes safe work practices and complies with lockout/tag out procedures.

The role involves troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and generator systems, coordinating with Field Manager, and serving on disaster and emergency response teams. On-call duties may include after-hours work.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; trade/vocational school preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in appliance repair and property maintenance.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license with clean record.
• Blueprint reading/building layouts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs residential appliances.
• Assists in repairs of electrical distribution systems and HVAC equipment.
• Assists in plumbing, generator, boilers, and heating systems maintenance.
• Coordinates with contractors for fire suppression maintenance and repairs.
• Maintains inventory and tools; ensures orderly work vehicles.
• Conducts regular rounds to identify equipment failures and schedule maintenance.
• Closes work orders promptly and communicates repair statuses to residents/staff.
• Participates in disaster and emergency response, on-call rotation.
