Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services seeks a Maintenance Repairman 2 to perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks at Wernersville State Hospital. You will maintain buildings, equipment, and systems across multiple trades, contributing to safe, reliable operations.

Typical duties include general repairs, electrical work, plumbing, surface finishing, and structural tasks. Work hours are 12:00 PM–8:00 PM, Monday to Friday; travel and overtime may be required; telework is not

Qualifications

Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent).
Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance with at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities

General repairs: building maintenance, repairs, renovations, and preventative work.
Electrical work: install circuits, lighting, switches, outlets, and related components.
Plumbing tasks: install and maintain pipes, fixtures, and plumbing equipment.
Surface finishing: prep, prime, paint, and finish interior and exterior surfaces.
Structural work: install drywall, framing, doors, windows, and trim components.
Equipment operation: operate and maintain tools and machinery for construction and repair.
