Job summary

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is seeking a Maintenance Tech 1 to uphold the safety and functionality of the venue, a multi-theater, multi-venue complex with outdoor plaza.

The role requires 3-5 years in facilities maintenance and broad knowledge of building systems. Responsibilities include minor to emergency repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and grounds; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; sharpening safety and housekeeping practices;

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in building and grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of the proper use and care of tools and equipment used in facility maintenance.
• Valid Florida driver’s license with minimal infractions within the last 3 years.
• Knowledge of wall finishing, painting, wall covering and architectural finishes.
• Knowledge of basic electrical applications and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of general safe operating procedures and conservation programs.
• Ability to work variable schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays; lift up to 50 lbs; climb stairs and ladders to heights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility across indoor and outdoor areas.
• Perform repair and maintenance tasks including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring and masonry.
• Respond to requests for routine and emergency repairs; keep work areas clean and organized.
• Represent Facilities Operations to guests and internal teams with prompt, courteous response; communicate via radio for timely updates.
• Follow safety guidelines and report major deficiencies to supervisor.
• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance; ensure tools and equipment are safe to use.
• Attend required trainings and maintain confidentiality of facility data.
