Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a District Manager to lead and develop multiple stores across the North New Jersey district (Paramus, Clifton, Secaucus, Lodi, Passaic, Mahwah, Hackensack, North Bergen). You will guide store profitability through customer service, in-stock performance, and store appearance, coaching management, and driving district-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Preferred: bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• At least 5 years merchandising and/or operational experience.
• At least 5 years leadership experience, preferably big box retail.
• Ability to work a flexible, minimum 55 hour weekly schedule.
• At least 3 years merchandising and/or operational experience.
• At least 3 years leadership experience, preferably retail.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret sales, financial and store reporting to assess opportunities; review shrink and safety performance and implement improvement game plans.
• Communicate with the RVP and regional team to drive alignment and resolve issues; conduct store walks and assess opportunities.
• Observe customer service levels and coach store management on opportunities; align district team on priorities and execution strategies.
• Teach, coach and train store leaders on termination counseling, performance issues and associate relations; engage with store associates and lead town halls.
• Develop leaders and build a pipeline for store leaders through succession planning and performance reviews.
• Maximize turns by evaluating inventory productivity, improving in-stock, and reducing slow moving merchandise; plan improvements across Receiving, Front End, Tool Rental, and Interconnected Retail.
