Ledgent is seeking a detail-oriented Sales Tax Specialist to join our Accounting team in the United States. The role focuses on multi-state sales and use tax compliance, exemption management, and audit support.

You will work with Accounting, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure accurate tax setup and reporting. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience with a focus on sales/use tax, strong data analysis, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in sales and use tax.
• Experience supporting multi-jurisdictional tax reporting and audits.
• Ability to research and resolve complex tax issues independently.

Responsabilités

• Manage, collect, review, and validate customer sales tax exemption certificates.
• Maintain accurate records of exemption certificates and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Sales, and Customer Service teams to ensure accurate customer tax setup and maintenance.
• Research sales and use tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Analyze product taxability and tax treatment by state where the company has nexus.
• Ensure ERP systems are configured to calculate taxes accurately.
• Stay current on changes to tax laws and compliance requirements.
• Support audits and respond to notices as needed.
