This on-site, full-time role reports to the Payroll & Benefits Manager and emphasizes state-specific wage-and-hour rules, tax requirements, and accurate compensation calculations.

The ideal candidate will handle complex pay calculations, resolve discrepancies, maintain records, and collaborate with HR.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive payroll experience across multiple states.
• 2+ years of California payroll processing.
• Experience with overtime, double time, and deductions.
• Understanding of pre-tax and post-tax deductions and retirement plan deductions.
• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, lookups, filtering).
• Experience with HRIS/payroll platform.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet payroll deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end payroll processing for employees across multiple states.
• Review payroll data for accuracy, including hours and earnings.
• Set up and maintain state tax withholding for new hires.
• Process final checks and off-cycle payrolls.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and escalate when needed.
• Respond to payroll questions from employees and managers.
• Maintain payroll records and assist with audits.
