Job summary

MCR Hotels in Dallas Corporate Office is seeking a Sales and Occupancy Tax Accountant to ensure accurate and timely filings for a multi-state hospitality portfolio. You will compile data from PMS and GL, prepare returns, and assemble documentation for state/local audits.

The role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple jurisdictions. Onboarding new properties and supporting year-end close are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years in accounting or tax, hospitality or multi-unit environments preferred.
• Strong Excel: pivot tables, lookup functions, reconciliation design.
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet fixed filing deadlines.
• Well-organized with audit-ready records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file sales, use, and occupancy tax returns monthly/quarterly/annually.
• Reconcile taxable revenue by property and jurisdiction using PMS/GL data.
• Maintain a filing calendar with due dates and exemption requirements.
• Support audits with documentation, schedules, and auditor responses.
• Monitor tax rate changes and update procedures accordingly.
• Onboard new properties with state/local tax registrations.
• Assist month-end/year-end close tasks related to tax accounts.
